You can make some amazing looking characters. There's a whole subreddit r/Inquisition Sliders that has a bunch of good looking characters. I've seen a dwarf Ben Stiller, a dwarf Arya Stark, a couple Commander Shepards.
Ohhh my gosh, the Dorian romance is the most beautiful, precious thing in this world! While I was doing my fem!Qunari Mage romance with Josephine (which is ALSO the cutest thing ever oh my god these characters are going to kill me), me and Chels/Margaid would switch off playing. I was watching her mage Trevelyan romance with Dorian and it killed my heart. Beautiful mage genius nerds.
Right now I'm working on a Solas (fem elf mage, obviously) and a Cassandra romance (Trevelyan warrior), and both are going great! I'm so head over heels for Cassandra, it's insane. And Solas, my god. I'm also playing a male elf game, but I don't have the first clue who to pursue for a romance for him. I thought about Dorian, but I felt like I'd be stealing Chels/Margaid's thunder. Then I thought Iron Bull, but I don't LOVE him yet (maybe a romance with him will open up my heart to him? So far I like him but not as much as some of the other characters).
Also Swift, that is a SUPER entertaining thread. So many people are making such attractive Inquisitors!
I thought my fem!Qunari was GORGEOUS, but I was upset by the lack of long flowing white hair options. But I'm always a fan of a good mohawk (which is the hair I gave her), so I wasn't exactly broken-hearted.
I love my male elf's appearance so much - I should actually post some screenshots of him some time. There are a few camera angles where you inevitably go "WHOA what was I thinking here??" but in general, he looks good.
(I tried to make my Trevalyen warrior look as much like Viggo Mortensen as possible - I don't think I succeeded, but he is alright looking.)
Basically what this whole ramble is leading up to is that a Black Emporium DLC would be amazing - a second chance to fix some of the weird appearance decisions that you didn't realize you'd made, and could only catch after seeing more face angles while playing the game.
With my two Inquisitor's so far—M!Human mage and F!Elf mage—I was actually happy with their appearances. But I did also have to restart my first human mage because he came out alarmingly orange my first try, but it was all for the better, because I managed to remake him so ridiculously handsome that I was not ashamed of him being less pretty than Dorian in their relationship.
But with my elf female mage, I fully acknowledge that I was ONLY able to make her look good because I had used the character creator twice, and I could guess how the crappy lighting might warp some of the features. Unfortunately, if they haven't added a Black Emporium-like DLC yet, when a lot of people have already finished a playthrough, I wonder if they ever will.
Then again, Skyrim added a facechanger into the game about a year after it's first release, so I guess anything's possible.
(Also Macha: noooo let poor Canden romance Dorian. It's a wonderful romance journey! You couldn't take Dorian away from Trystan if you tried, anyway :U )
Hopefully if they ever do a Black Emporium-like DLC, it will also come out with some extended gameplay DLCs, so that you actually have some adventures to run around on with your altered face. I know there are still plenty of quests you can wait to do in the after game, but it's not quite the same as a good plot-heavy mini-adventure where your character's decisions and personality actually matter.
Oh my gosh, like Mark of the Assassin. That was the bomb. You know what would be a cool DLC? Last Court! Did anyone play Last Court on Dragon Age Keep before the game came out? It was the text/card-based Dragon Age game they released to keep you up on what was happening in the world between DA2 and Inquisition. That would be a cool DLC to run around in.

So, in Wolfram's playthrough, I forgot just what World State I was using, but I've finally figured it out. So, that playthrough's Hero was a Female Dalish Rogue who romanced Leliana, hardened Alistair, and recruited Loghain into the Wardens, putting Alistair and Anora on the throne. She sided with the mages, dalish, Caradin and Harrowmont, but defiled the Ashes and let Redcliffe fall to the undead. She also had Loghain do the ritual with Morrigan, so I'm going to be seeing Loghain soonish.
This, is my Hawke. Not realizing until accidently skipping Hawke character creation, I realized that it was Mage Hawke, so when I redid the character creation, I didn't know who to make. I had another mage, for a different DA rp that died years ago, but he was also named Rob. He was a mage of the Starkhaven Circle, who escaped and was hiding out in Lowtown, in the rp. His appearance was based on my own, sorta like the other Robert. The Rob from this rp, however, was based on picture drawn of me that was based on me, whereas this Rob was based on my actual face. It's not accurate, though. But, I like how it came out.

Ok, another image heavy post. I've finally got Wolfram into some proper Warden armor...and initiated God Mode. Wolfram is now on the path to being able to Solo the entire game! He also continues the trend of pissing off very old Elves and spirits because he sided with the Templars. Solas seems to hate his guts right now and Cole accuses Wolfram of not helping people. Probably because I didn't help the people in the Hinterlands yet, but that can be fixed. And for those of you who don't know what I mean by god mode, become a Knight-Enchanter.
So some shots in his armor...
And him taking on the rift by the lost Druffalo. You know, one of the rifts that tell you to get the hell out of the Hinterlands because these are level 12. Here Wolfram is taking it on, solo, at level 10. Despair demons are the worst fucking things in this game.
And Wolfram taking on some bandits further down the river before the wolf den.
Here's my latest two. Both are human but the first is a warrior I think I may scrap and the second Renar a mage. The warrior's makeup came out badly as I thought it had melded to just show a bit of tone, not strong color. Renar is my vixen so is red, red, red. Renar is actually a name I thought on well as renard is fox in french. I used to have a character called Renard Oeil (sp?) which as far as I saw would be fox eye. Hmm. Her hair is not as red as I thought when making her. Oh well.
I'm going to sound dumb probably but how did you make him a Knight-Enchanter? And level 10 killing the Fereldan Frostback icy queen dragon (who chews flames ... what's up with that name. Nothing cold and those colors are not cold either)
Like all other Specializations, you have to unlock it on the War Board! Pretty much as soon as you get to Skyhold, you have the option of hiring a trainer for your Inquisitor. Three different tutors will arrive, and you get to choose one of them to train under. It's Necromancy, Rift Magic (my fav, fuck yeah Stonefist), and Knight-Enchanter.

Yeah, I think you need to leave Skyhold then return that you get the mission for tutors. Then you got to fulfill the quest. For Knight-Enchanter you need to read about them, either by buying the codex entry for them or reading the book by Vivienne, and craft the hilt which needs three Wisp Essences and 10 Lazurite ore. It's essentially the evolution of the Arcane Warrior specialization which apparently was created by the ancient elves and lived on. He's maybe also a Jedi now too.
But yeah, fire-breath and a green and yellow color scheme doesn't not sound appropriate for the name Frostback. It was really funny when I first saw the dragon. I turned the corner getting the view from the first picture, then heard 'Oh that dragon's coming this way.' I'm like "NOPE" and fled that area until it disengaged. I was level eight at the time and I was not going to even attempt it at that low a level.

Ok I wasn't sure there for a bit since I don't remember when I had my character get her extra training. Y'see, I believe my qunari was at least lvl 12 because I tend to wander a lot, get lost, gather gather gather, oh what level am I again? Maybe I should find out what happened with that quest. Let's see now ... so at lvl 10 having that training confused me and I thought I missed something.
So it's the enchanter huh. Must try that with Renar then.
