Character Name: Knight-Corporal Bryant Franderel
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Class: Warrior/Mage
Specializations: Templar, Spirit Warrior
Favored skills: Sword and Shield, Beyond the Veil
Appearance:Bryant has red hair with bangs down to his eyebrows. He has a short, red beard that he carefully maintains. Bryant has gray eyes, one of which is weaker from an injury of his. He has a scar down his left eye.
Hobbies: Training, feigning interest, and attempting to harness his latent magic abilities.
Background: Born of a set of twins to Bann Franderel, Bryant has no memories of that family outside of his twin sister, Brianne. Both had been taken to the Circle of Magi when they were very young after exhibiting signs of magic. Whereas Brianne met the signs, Bryant was an interesting case. While they were able to determine he had magic as well, he seemed to be unable to harness it as most mages can. The Knight-Commander of the Ferelden Circle decided to use him as an experiment. He wanted to see if they can groom Bryant into being a Templar without needing lyrium.
Bryant lived in the Circle, with his sister, but instead was taught in things relating to the Chant of Light and teachings of the Templar. Bryant grew as they wanted him to. But it wasn't because he was stupid. He knew what they were doing. But if he didn't do what they wanted, he may lose the only freedoms he had there.
His test final test was about to come. His sister's Harrowing was coming up. They forced him to be one of the participants. He was the templar tasked with killing her if she should come out possessed. They thought that perhaps this occasion might also bring his abilities to surface. Brianne came out perfectly fine, much to their relief. Bryant was inducted into the Templars, seemingly fine.
Bryant had touched the Fade, he thought. He was greeted by a Spirit of Valor. He felt something familiar about Bryant and offered to help him access his abilities and brave the dangers before him. Bryant was cautious, but felt no lie in his words. As curious as it was, the Spirit of Valor seemed to disappear. Bryant never acknowledged when it happened, but he felt different. Only after it was done had Bryant realized the error of his ways. But it was too late, Valor and him were one.
No one else ever found out, however. Life continued as always, except Bryant felt more of a compulsion to run headlong into a fight. During the blight, Bryant volunteered to accompany the Templar group escorting the mages at Ostagar. He killed dozens of darkspawn before the surviving mages and templars were forced to retreat.
During the Uldreds attack on the Tower, Bryant and Brianne holed up in one of the rooms fighting off several abominations. During this fight, Brianne noticed a difference in Bryant, which lead to him revealing his situation. The two eventually ventured out and joined up with the surviving mages.
Life after the blight was less exciting. Occasionally he was sent out to retrieve a runner.
Personality:Bryant is a bit quiet, but has no problem voicing his opinion when it is required. As a templar he has an unusually high amount of sympathy for them, more so since he could be technically considered one by Templar standards. He tends to rush headlong into danger, a part of him which he can't determine was always him or because of Valor's influence. Despite being groomed into being a Templar, Bryant doesn't have much faith in the Chantry. He also hates the templars and wouldn't mind being able to escape from them.
Weapons/Armor: Bryant uses standard issue Templar equipment. A Templar sword and a shield, and a less armor heavy Templar armor. When off duty he wears a black robe and gray robe with some chainmail weaves, just in case.
