Character Name: Margaid
Age: 26
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Class: Mage
Specializations: Shapeshifter and (occasionally) Blood Mage
Favored skills: Tempest and Walking Bomb
Hobbies: Digging up roots, reciting poetry with the Elder Tree, turning insects into Walking Bombs
Background: Margaid was a young girl when she was forcibly brought to the Circle, and already used to living freely and not having to restrain her magic. The Circle was a nightmare for her; having gone without training for so long, she always had difficulty limiting herself and keeping her magic under control. She never felt a moment of peace, with the combined effects of keeping herself in check and the weight of the Templars' suspicious stares. The young teen became a paranoid wreck and often tried to mask her fear with nonchalance. When the time came fore her Harrowing, however, she was such a complex tangle of nerves and panic, lacking the confidence to survived the ordeal, that she bolted. It was not a clean escape. Margaid lost her right eye in the ensuing conflict, which resulted in casting accidental blood magic, spiriting herself away from the scrimmage. Margaid lived in a state of constant paranoia for a long time thereafter, but also managed to come into her own as a mage. She discovered a latent talent for shape-shifting (a useful talent for evading people and Templars alike) and learned to compensate for her shoddy aim (due to a missing eye) by casting larger-area spells like Tempest, or having whatever 'enemy' there was explode all over each other. Solitude and constantly having to look over her shoulder have unhinged the young woman and she's not quite all there in the head, but this, in a strange way, has brought her a kind of peace. She doesn't behave as normal people would in certain situations, but does manage an easy calm most of the time, even at points were the more well of mind would panic. Margaid is not her 'original' name; she can't remember if she forgot it or if she just chose to get a new name, but she eventually decided on 'Margaid the Maleficar,' liking the sound of it.
Personality: From her 'old' life, to her time in the Circle, to her feral years in the wild, Margaid has been alone more often than not. She craves attention, but has never known positive recognition, and fears people. Emotionally, Margaid has become more 'stable' since losing touch with reality. She has a very jovial (if scattered) manner and smiles often, even when she shouldn't. More than anything, she just likes magic, and being able to do magic freely and not being hunted by Templars. As long as she feels 'safe,' she's happy.
