Varric - Nygozy Solas - Lithawen Sera - Lithawen Dorian - Margaid Cole - Macha Vivienne - Blackwall - The Iron Bull -
Josephine - Cullen - Nygozy Cassandra - Leliana -
Nathaniel: Calliara Anders/Justice: Macha
Do we have volunteers? There are more to the group but I have to remember the names. Are there any characters we can swap out with one of our originals? Not Solas because I'm gonna beat his ass.
And I have a couple of ways to get Hawke and Nygozy in right at the start of the story
I hope people are alright with sassy Hawke, because he's reporting for duty. He just loves being tugged around the world by dwarves. With the Hero of Ferelden popping into his life, I think he can officially consider it a pastime.
Oh, the times they will have...the things they will break...
Honestly, I would love to play Solas, but I feel 107% guilty saying so since I've also apparently got Hawke. Definitely going to let someone else call that one first, if anyone wants him.
//Gasp you're right! How could we forget Dorian and Viv? Dorian is endlessly amazing and my actual fave, and Vivienne's rockin'. Honestly, Vivienne meeting Nygozy sounds like a popcorn-worthy event...
I've been flip-flopping like crazy on what to do with my inquisitor. So many options! I really think there are interesting implications for every single species and class when it comes to being put on Andraste's pedestal. I think my mind has been hovering around elven mage the most of all (especially with all the revelations given about elves in DAI), but I can't even begin to decide on a gender just yet. I wanted to balance out Male-Human-Mage Hawke and Female-Dwarf-Rogue Warden/Nygozy in some way - hmmmmmmmm
If it helps, I as thinking this might be (one potential) good way to roll into things:
It seemed to me that it might be a good idea to start the Inquisition off after a little bit of time has passed — say once Skyhold is gotten and Haven has already happened. I was thinking it would be fun to start maybe just before the Adamant quest. If we did that, it would be a very easy way to bring in Hawke and even the Warden, and then we can just tweak events of the ending of that quest to keep both Hawke and the Warden around.
Thoughts? I know you said that you had your own ideas on how to bring Nygozy and Hawke in, Nygozy, so we could always lean towards that idea, too!
I'm ready to bring Hawke whenever you want, Nygozy. Just say the word, or whatever you plan.
I like the idea of starting at Adamant, too. Just because it's a place where everyone is canonically together. But I've never been unhappy with fudging canon for the sake of a good idea.
I guess if we start in the middle of the Inquisitor's story, though, it might require people claiming Inquisition companions, and maybe discussing where everyone stands with each other...

But why would we be at Adamant? Are we there to stop Clarel's ritual and are we working with her? I had an idea that Wolfram had become Clarel's Warden-Constable just a few months to a year later. In that case, he'd request Nygozy's aid restoring Clarel to her senses. I don't think that Nygozy would be okay with sacrificing her friends and allies to summon a demon army, even if it is to stop future blights. But that last part would only really work if we weren't willing accomplices in Clarel's plan.
It seems to me that no one is ever a willing participant in Clariel's plans. I think it's also pretty safe to say that Origin's Warden (in our case, Nygozy) has absolutely no contact and otherwise nothing to do with Clariel or her set of Wardens. From letters in the game, the Warden lets you know that they're off doing their own thing, trying to find a way to cure the Taint, and that they don't know much about organized Warden affairs at all.
As far as a timeline goes, I think it would be pretty reasonable to say that things went a little like this:
- Nygozy builds up her own little sect of Ferelden Wardens (aka the post-Origin Section of our RP) - Nygozy then disappears (possibly with a small collection of companions, or whoever from our group wanted to run off with her) to do her own thing with looking to stop the Taint - Clariel and her own Ferelden Wardens are doing their own thing - Weissaupt is DEFINITELY doing their own vague and mysterious thing - Hawke does his thing and accidentally starts a war by helping mages - The Inquisition and the attack on Haven happen - Inquisitor finds out that the Wardens hold some key to stopping this madness, Varric reveals that he knows just the guy, Adamant quest starts as usual - Meanwhile, Nygozy hears about all the shit going down, and pauses her quest to find a way to stop the Taint in order to run back to Ferelden and try to stop the Wardens from doing their general stupid Warden things - Hawke and Inquisitor go to Adamant and, in the only change to the canon events of the quest, meet Nygozy there as well, kicking ass and taking names (like Leliana hoped she would be, when she asks about the Warden after the quest)
BUT of course that's not the only way to do it! It's just one suggestion, and I know Nygozy said she had plans of her own, so I don't know if they would or wouldn't match up with this. I just thought it seemed like a logical starting point!
Macha, you and Calli have always been pretty good at reading my mind. I'd had an idea of how to enter both Hawke and Nygozy at the start and then basically what you just said, except not in as much detail as you were able to come up with.
Ok Swift ... it would basically be Macha's comments along with a bit of my own additions here ... just a rewrite. Macha was correct!
- Anders/Justice will be with the group but then leave and help out in Hawke's storyline - Ny dislikes the main wardens' concepts of how to do things and is rather unhappy with their stick to the old rules and regulations crud. She requests people from her Ferelden Wardens' sect to come with her to try to find a way to stop the Taint and those who do not wish to could continue on at their hold or go to one of the other sects. - Swift: If you wish then Wolfram could become Clarel's Warden-Constable some time after Ny leaves to the deep roads. - Hawke accidentally starts the mage war by helping them - Ny and her group can feel the pull of the call but since it's all of them at the same time they are all wary of it and fight it - Word comes to them from Wolfram that Clarel's rituals with demons are going on so Ny pauses the quest to find a way to kick them in the ass for being so stupid (considering that she has fought demons and knows the problems with them she is not so stupid as to think that it is a way to stop anything except a person's own mind. She's even wary with regular spirits until she gets to know them. "I don't trust all beings just the same. Your actions prove whether trust is gained or lost.") - The Inquisition and the attack on Haven happen - Inquisitor finds out that the Wardens hold some key to stopping this madness, Varric reveals that he knows just the guy, Adamant quest starts as usual - Hawke and Inquisitor go to Adamant and, in the only change to the canon events of the quest, meet Nygozy there as well, kicking ass and taking names (like Leliana hoped she would be, when she asks about the Warden after the quest)
Sorry Macha - I used a lot of your stuff in this breakdown.
